Dear Parents and Carers, At our college, the safety and wellbeing of students and staff is always a priority. As part of the Northern Territory Department of Education guidelines, we practise our emergency procedures so that everyone feels confident and prepared. In the near future, we will be conducting a practice invacuation (lockdown) drill. This is a routine activity that helps students and staff understand what to do in a calm and supportive environment. During the drill, students will be asked to follow staff instructions, which includes not contacting parents or guardians at that time or use of their phones. This helps us ensure the process runs smoothly and mirrors real procedures. Please be assured that in the unlikely event of a real emergency, families would be contacted by the college as soon as it is safe to do so. We appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of these practice drills and helping students approach them in a calm and positive way. Kind regards, Steve Smith Principal

Centralian Middle School and Centralian Senior College have been established as emergency shelters and as such will be closed for students on 2 March 2026. All other government schools will operate as normal. We will provide additional information on school operations as appropriate. Please be aware that river conditions may change rapidly. Please obey all road closure signage and never attempt to drive through floodwater. Don’t be a floodwit — if it’s flooded, forget it. For the latest updates follow SecureNT.
